Mechanical Seals

At Tycon-Technoglass we only offer cartridge mounted seals.  We start with internal components from Crane and Flowserve, and mount these inside our Quick-Change® cartdige.

As implied by its name, Quick-Change®, is designed for rapid and easy replacement.  It also has a massive double thrust bearing to protect the gearbox and center the seal heads.

Quick-Change® can be specified with wet running, dry running or gas barrier seal components as well as special features such  debris traps

* Internal seal components may be gas barrier, dry running or lubricated.
* Can be equipped with debris catchers in         order to assure the highest purity product.
* With our design, NO metal comes in
contact with the fluid  in the vessel. Only
the lower components, gaskets and  glass
linings are exposed.
* Tycon-Technoglass also includes a massive double thrust bearings above the outboard seal in the Quick-Change® seal cartridge.  This is similar to the design used on
premium agitators by most major "mixer"
manufacturers.  It is intended to insure that
the seal heads run true and maximize
their life.

 
IMPORTANT - Also note our special Rigid-Mount®, 360 degree steel mixer mounting flange that does not use threaded couplings for support or leveling.  Instead, we have a solid steel flange which is concentric with an inner glass lined flange for rigidly mounting the mixer pedestal and absorbing the static and dynamic forces of the mixer. 

Rigid-Mount® has the advantage of being easy to mount the mixer without playing with the threaded couplings and also gives a very solid mount for stability and minimization of vibration.   The system also results in the glass lined flange only seeing forces sufficient to seal the gasket and none of the dynamic loading.  (Note: This system is not used on reactor bodies which are intended for direct interchange with competitive reactors).
